Brainwave Entrainment Frequencies Explained
Brain activity is often discussed using frequency bands such as delta, theta, alpha, beta, and gamma. These labels summarize patterns observed in electrophysiological recordings; they are not single-purpose switches.
Frequency bands in context
Different sources can use slightly different boundaries. In humans, theta is commonly discussed around roughly 4–8 Hz or somewhat wider ranges depending on the research context.
Delta
Frequency alone does not tell you what a person is thinking, feeling, or capable of doing. The same band can appear across different tasks, states, and brain regions.
